We occasionally have trained dogs for sale. These dogs are from top quality breeding and have been molded since puppy-hood for their future job as a gundog and family companion. Trained dogs are perfect for someone who wants to skip the puppy stage or wants to save time and money over buying a quality bred pup and having it trained later.  Purchasing a trained dog also cuts out the unknowns of a puppy, you see what you are buying when you buy him/her. Our dogs have their hips x-rayed and eyes checked prior to them being trained. They are sold with our normal puppy guarantee that covers their hips for 26 months. We also allow a two week trial period to ensure that the dog will fit in well with it's new family.  We can ship nationwide, but really prefer the dog be picked here and that the new owners spend time with us learning how to handle and get the most out of the dog.  We usually have 4 or 5 trained dogs for sell a year.  Give us a call to discuss the ones listed here or the ones we have coming along.

STARTED RETRIEVERS: Our started dogs have completed our basic gundog training program. They have been obedience trained, deliver to hand and are steady. They have been shot over, work through decoys and out of boats. The dogs also have completed basic handling drills (hand signals). They are crate trained and have spent time in the house. They are well socialized and do very well with other dogs and children. Prices for started dogs start at $3000.00.

SEASONED/FINISHED DOGS: Our seasoned dogs have been through the same basic training as started dogs.  Their training has been advanced and they have become proficient at multiple marks and blind retrieves. They can handle any situation that arises in a average days hunt. Prices for these dogs start at $4500.00.
